The US SRP for the Nintendo Switch is $299 excluding tax. The Switch games The Legend of Zelda - Breath of the Wild and 1-2-Switch will be sold in the US for $59.99 and $49.99. Add them together and you will have to cash out around $410 minimum. Converting this directly to Philippine pesos will yield P20,604 (current exchange rate: US$1 = PHP50.23). Adding tax, shipping, retail profit, and other miscellaneous fees can explain why the initial SRP shot up dramatically.

For reference, the Nintendo Wii U Basic (US SRP $299, direct conversion = P12,245.59) and Wii U Deluxe (SRP $349.99, direct conversion = P14,286.59) were sold here for P19,995 and P29,950 respectively on their release dates back in 2012. The exchange rate back then was US$1 = PHP40.82.

It appears that the official distributor of Nintendo products in Southeast Asia is the one mandating the forced bundle and prices in these territories. One local retailer confirmed this report. GameXtreme and Gameline / Game Gizmo have also retracted their console-only options at the time of writing. GameXtreme also clarified that slots for their console-only pre-order option were already sold-out anyway. Here are the average prices of the same bundle from other Maxsoft territories for comparison:

• Malaysia - RM2,099 ~ RM2,399 (around P23,554 to P26,915 or US$535)
• Singapore - S$659 (around P23,151 or US$461)
• Middle East - AED1999 (around P27,308 or US$544)

Regarding Nintendo Switch games, you can view the confirmed line up so far through this link. We only included the US release dates below. You can still play Japanese games with it since it's a region-free console unlike the Wii U and the 3DS.
